Natives of Ayitikofe in Akatsi South Municipal were overjoyed when a well-furnished modern kindergarten with water project was commissioned for them by VALCO Trust Fund on Wednesday 1st June
VALCO Trust Fund in 2021 launched a five-year project to eradicate schools under trees, a project which aimed at changing some 5,403 schools into modern educational schools across Ghana with Ayitikofe M/A Basic school benefiting from the project with much collaboration from the assembly member. The Ayitikope project contains classroom blocks for the kindergarten department with state-of-the-art furniture and a mechanized water project.
According to Hon. Jerry Etse Agbo the assembly member for the area, he has an ultimate aim to promote eradication of schools under trees in his electoral area, in line with this, he consulted the management of VALCO Trust fund with his proposal which they bought into and quickly embarked on the project that started last year.
Torgbui Katsekpor IV Dufia of Ayitikope is very grateful to the assembly member and VALCO for this intervention, He went on to advice the teachers of the school to make good use of the facility and admonished parents to make sure all their children are sent to school now that the school is in good condition for modern education. Municipal Director of NCCE, Mad. Eugenia Obodae also used the opportunity to educate the natives on Article 41 clauses (a) and (f) on how to preserve and protect state properties.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives from The Akatsi Municipal Assembly and Ghana education Service.
