As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, The Ghana Oil Company Ltd (GOIL), has donated 50 ultra-modern hospital beds to Dzodze Ghana Mission Clinic in the Volta Regional town of Dzodze.
These beds valued at GHC.240,000.00 are meant to address bed shortage and aid in-patient services at the facility.
Presenting the items on behalf of GOIL, Public Relations Manager, Mr. Robert Kyere, said the company has over the years provided logistics including hospital beds to some facilities to bring relief to the people they served and this gesture was one of the many.
He stressed on the need to stock up the hospitals well enough to enable health professionals to be able to attend to patients who report to the facilities effectively, and called on other institutions, NGOs and stakeholders to also contribute their quota to the realization of Sustainable Development Goal(SDG) 3, which is Good Health and Well-being. He further pledged their continuous support for the facility in the years ahead.
Mr Mac-Thompson Gbeti, the Administrator of Dzodze Ghana Mission Clinic, commended GOIL for the support given them true to the fact that this gesture is mostly done the public hospitals, he said the beds will go a long way to assist the clinic’s operations and bring an end to the disheartening situations where patients are attended to on seats and benches. But for the timely intervention of GOIL, those inconveniences are of the past now.
He further appealed to other Corporate Organizers, NGOs, and other benevolent institutions to also come to their aid as they need more, such as the building of more wards, a power plant, theater equipment, establishment of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Completion of the Administration Block, and also the completion of the OPD and Emergency Complex to become a fully-fetched hospital.
‘’Having all these in place, will help promote and enhance our service delivery, especially, as per our location, we are close to those who live in the villages hence we become their only solace and nearest point of call in terms of health care delivery’’ he added.
To appreciate GOIL, a Citation was presented by Dr. Bernice Agyepong, the Medical Superintendent of the facility on behalf of Dzodze Ghana Mission Clinic, this was received by Mr Robert Kyere, Public Relations Manager, GOIL.
At the ceremony was the Board of Directors of the facility, Representatives from GOIL, the MCE , Hon. Anthony Avorgbedor, Staff of the facility, Chiefs and People of Dzodze.
About Dzodze Ghana Mission Clinic.
The facility was established some six(6) years ago by the Dzodze Ablorme Church of Christ through the dream of their then Preacher, John Morkli and with the support of missionaries abroad. Work officially started in June 2016 after all the necessary registration processes with all recognized regulatory bodies and with the staff strength of 8 people. The facility now operates under the auspices of Christian Health Association of Ghana can boast of over 109 members of staff.
The services rendered are primary healthcare, wound dressing center, antenatal and delivery, post natal care, obstetrics, laboratory services, maternal health unit, pharmaceutical care, mental health unit, ultrasound scan, RCH, family planning and counselling and others. The facility also operates under level B2 with the National Health Insurance Authority. Measures are being put in place to upgrade to a Primary Hospital.
