Farmers in Anloga District trained in tomato processing

The department of Agriculture in the Anloga District of the Volta Region has trained over twenty (20) farmers in tomato processing.
Mr. Emmanuel Atika, the District Director of Agriculture in Anloga said in an interview that, the training is very important in this peak season of harvesting tomatoes.

He underscored the need to reduce post-harvest losses, a situation which has affected farmers in the district over the years.
Mr. Emmanuel Dzakpasu, the Anloga District Coordinating Director (DCD) urged participants in the training to take advantage of the opportunity to create something on their own.

Speaking to the media after the program, the trainer, Mrs. Agnes Gakpetor noted that most farmers in the various farming communities usually throw out greater part of their rotten tomatoes, a situation which makes them run at loss during the peak time of harvesting tomatoes hence the training.
Some participants who spoke to Journalists expressed their satisfaction about the skills training program and called on others to also avail themselves to be part when it comes to their various communities.
